Fashion week is like the oscars to an actress or like the Grammys to a singer- even if you aren't nominated for anything you want to be in the atmosphere to soak up all the creative juices, network & see all the talented people get their recognition and show off their skills. It is a time where editors, bloggers, designers & the famous fashion lovers come to sport their most amazing outfits, network and get to see all the new collections from the best fashion designers.
Last week wrapped up New York fashion week and as I looked at all the pictures of the amazing outfits & the epic designer collections I couldn't help but think about one day attending, how amazing the experience would be & of course what I would've worn.
So I wanted to show a simple outfit I would wear if I was to attend fashion week because the first step to making a goal a reality is envisioning that it's actually possible. Taking steps like you are already in your dream place seems silly, but it's a great way to bring the grand idea in your head to reality & actually practice doing it right now. This got me thinking about my goals & the things I want to accomplish with this blog & my career.
I'm a big believer of dreaming & setting goals for yourself & reaching for things that seem far fetched but are totally doable.
Remember my post about my first year of blogging? I talked a lot about goals & perseverance. So, whether your goal is to one day make it fashion week, or to get that dream job, write a book or start a business, start the steps to making it a reality by actually working out the process in your mind. Below is a recap of my favorite street style fashion looks from the attendees. While you scroll over some of my favorite outfits, think about your own personal goals, fashion related or not.
Goals are so important, they keep you focused & keep you reaching for something better & avoiding getting too comfortable.
There's always something to strive for so what's your current goal and what are you doing to make it a reality? Are you just daydreaming about it or are you putting legs to your dreams? Start with a brainstorm, a plan & take baby steps to gradually reach your goal. Ok, now to great outfits. One year when I make it to attend fashion week, I'll report back with a more in depth look about the actual event & how my goal became a reality.
