Right about now, people all over are dusting off their spring & summer clothes from last year & wondering “is this still in?”. Out with the old, in with the new, right? Though this famous saying is perfect for New Years Eve, thankfully  it doesn’t always apply to fashion. The beautiful ( and wallet friendly) thing about building a complete wardrobe is that it is often a mix of classic pieces you've owned for years and trendy pieces you add into the mix.

So not everything from last year (or the year before) needs to be given to Goodwill; and  sometimes even I have to wonder if an impulse shoe purchase I bought a few years back is still in style.  It can be difficult to keep straight what was just a trend last year & what has stood the test of time & is still in fashionable this year. So, as you pull out last year’s skirts, shorts and sandals, let this post be a small guide to what's still in from last year & also some new trends you may want to add into your wardrobe.

4 Spring trends that are still in from last year:

1) The Maxi skirt/dress- These have been around for a few years & this spring they are still a favorite. Remember when I wore this purple maxi here? & my other go to maxi here. These don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon so they are spring 2015 approved.

2)The Crop top- As shown above, there's a classy way to pull these off (think a skirt or pants, shorts with a high waist). It’s a cute way to show off a little bit of skin without going overboard and a trendy addition to a spring outfit.

3) Hats- Sun hats, floppy hats & fedoras resurfaced a few years ago & are still going strong?  Not only do they help with a bad hair day but they are the perfect accessory to for the beach, picnic or any other spring time activity.

4) Metallics - Metallic tones are the new neutral. They go with anything and add a bright pop of color for your warm weather look.

4 New trends to add to your spring wardrobe

1) Flare jeans- The famous saying in fashion is what goes around comes around and yes, the 70’s are back & I have been hunting for a pair of these myself. The perfect jean to wear with pumps or sandals, add this trendy piece if you are into the retro look.

2) Jumpsuits- The most comfortable piece this season, a jumpsuit is the best option this season if you are looking for a quick easy way to be stylish.

3) The Shirt dress- Though one of my favorite looks for spring, this can be a little tricky to style. Here is a great tutorial on how to wear a shirt dress.

4) Fringe- Fringe is everywhere- on jackets, shoes, purses etc. This is a great trend to wear if you just want one fashion forward piece to add to an everyday outfit.

Now that you know what's still in and what new trends to add to your closet this year it should be easy to look incredibly stylish this spring. If you are having trouble determining if you need to take some pieces out of your wardrobe rotation read this post here.

With this list creating your spring wardrobe should be simple so spread the style wealth- share this post and let me know in the comments what your favorite spring pieces are.

  3. Awesome Post!! This looks a nice combination for girls having good height. I feel that this outclasses the other dresses with its unique and fine approach. This stuff can suit some jewellery too with a great extent including bracelets and necklace. I regularly read about fashion trends, recently I found an interesting blog you can also have a look here- http://www.jewelexi.com/blog/news/new-fashion-trends-spotted-at-cfda-2015-awards
