Every once in a while in fashion there’s moments that make no sense but look so good that it doesn’t even matter. I call these trends fashion risks with a stylish pay off. These trends are slightly out of the box but when done right, give you an automatic A in the universal class of fashion. A step up from basic mixing and matching, these unexpected, nontraditional and bold trends take a little bit of creativity but with the right tips they are easy to master. Check out the top three fall trends for the fashion risk taker below. You'll be surprised at how many you will want to try…
1. The Sleeveless Coat. Yes, I know it’s an oxymoron, all coats should have sleeves but coats without sleeves have recently taken over the fashion scene. When I found the tweed sleeveless coat worn above, it was the perfect layering piece to add to my wardrobe. Since it’s like a long vest, the sleeveless coat can be worn in the spring & the fall so it’s versatile throughout different seasons. Once it gets cold, a light leather jacket or even a warm sweater can be worn underneath to keep your arms warm.

2. Shorts with tights. If you love your legs and want to show them of in all ways possible through the winter, this trend is for you. Wearing shorts with tights is truly a walk on the wild side compared to the normal skirt and tights option for cold temps. Wear this with extra layers and boots to keep warm as the temperatures drop.

3. Fall or Winter White. I've talked before on many occasions about the old school "no white after labor day" rule. And although white in the fall or winter may seem crazy, there are perfectly stylish ways to not only get away with it, but also be the most stylish person in the room. Include sweaters, coats & scarves when wearing this trend to make sure your look is cold weather approved.
