Around this time of year calendars are as full as the local shopping malls. And with the overload of holiday parties for Christmas or New Year's Eve, one of the most important questions is what to wear. Shopping for a holiday party outfits can be exhausting because the options are endless. There's sparkle, lace, sequin, all red, all black....the outfit options can go on & on. So for this post I figured out an easy formula to create a holiday outfit for any size, any age or any climate & it's as simple as 1+1=2.
When you walk into a store the amount of options can seem overwhelming; add to that the pressure of putting together a stylish outfit and you have just entered pure fashion intimidation. But, the formula below will help you to not only pick out a holiday outfit but show up to your holiday party stylish and perfectly put together.
Follow the formula:
a fancy skirt + a basic shirt + heels (or a nice pair of flats) = the perfect holiday party outfit
In my perfect holiday party outfit above I followed this simple formula to come up with an amazing outfit for one of the many holiday parties I have lined up. Now here's more details about each piece.
- A FANCY SKIRT- This can mean a lot of different things. Sequin, lace, metallic or a festive colored skirt. Don't think fancy has to be ballroom, just make sure it's a skirt that looks like you have saved it for a special occasion
- A BASIC SHIRT- I chose a plain turtleneck but any basic shirt will do. Short sleeve, long sleeved and any color you choose. This is by far the simplest piece and you probably already have it in your closet
- HEELS- You don't have to wear heels but if you do own heels that are cute and comfortable enough to dance the night away, this is the time to pull them out. A pair of fancy flats will do as a substitution as well
Look below for some examples of other fashionistas that got this formula right. Follow the formula for your easy breezy Holiday party outfits!
