If you haven’t noticed, spring is around the corner; and that means warmer temperatures not only outside but also in your wardrobe. I love black & wear it all year round but there is something about warm days & more sunlight that makes me want to dabble into some pretty colors. I don’t wear much pink, but I love this pink trench coat I picked up last year & how it's the perfect shade for some color mixing.
A few years ago I did an intense, detail oriented blog post on how to dress with the color wheel, click here if you are ready to be schooled on the basics. In that post I talked about my favorite way to use the color wheel- pairing analogous colors, which is a fancy way of saying pairing colors together that are in the same family or next to each other on the color wheel.
I belted my pink coat with this burgundy belt and used burgundy to match up all my other accessories. You can say this belt, hat & purse were made for each other, and go perfectly with this pale shade of pink. This is by far my favorite way to pair colors together and the concept is simple enough for anyone to pull off. Here’s a few more examples of pairing similar colors together in your wardrobe:
Seems simple right? Perfect for spring and perfect for those rainy days coming up when your outfit needs a little pick me up. Feel free to try this trend out and share how it turned out in my FREE Fashion Facebook group here:Fashion Friends & Style Trends
